Champions League 2009 Fantasy Cricket Game Rules

How To PlayRules & Using SubsRankings & Winning Cash
Batting Rule - standard cricket rules apply
  • Your Fantasy team can bat a maximum of 20 overs (120 balls)
  • Once 120 balls are faced, batsmen's strike rate will be used to determine his fantasy score.(Shown in the fantasy column)
  • Runs scored by remaining batsmen in the batting order will will be IGNORED
In the example on the right, notice Rohit sharma has scored 21 runs of 20 balls, but in the fantasy column only 19 runs are counted, this is because the bastmen above him in the assigned batting order have left him only 18 balls out of the availble 120 balls in a 20/20 game!! Using his stirke rate in this innings we know he would score 19 runs in 18 balls.

Also notice Suman and Dhoni’s runs are ignored, 20 overs have been played by the batsmen above them so their runs do not count in this fantasy match.Had Dhoni been assigned a higer batting order this fantasy team would have scored even more than 174/5 in 20 overs

Bowling Rule - standard cricket rules & penalty runs apply
  • Your Fantasy Team can take a maximum of 10 wickets or bowl a maximum of 20 overs (120 balls)
  • If more than 10 wickets are taken or more than 20 overs bowled, the bowlers average and economy rate will be used to determine his fantasy bowling figures.(Shown in the fantasy column)
  • Runs conceded by remaining bowlers in the bowling line up will be IGNORED So think before you assign your bowling order!
  • Runouts also count as wickets. Only the player responsible for dislodging the bails will be credited with the run out. Runouts are added to the Wickets column of players in your bowling line up
  • If your bowlers do not take 10 wickets or do not bowl 20 overs, 12 penalty runs will be added for every over under 20
In this example notice Pragyan Ojah's bowling figures in the live match, 4 overs for 28 runs and 3 wickets, but in the fantasy column only 2.4 overs for 19 runs and 2 wickets are counted, this is becuase the players above him in the assigned bowling order have taken 8 wickets so only 2 are needed from Ojah! Using his bowling average and economy rate in this innings we know he would bowl 2.4 overs for 19 runs to take 2 wickets.

Also notice RP singh, Rohit Sharma, and Van de Merwe's bowling are being Ignored, this is because 10 wickets have already been taken by the players above them in this assigned bowling order, which has resulted in a very modest 77/10 in 13.4 overs for the fantasy opposition!

Using Substitutes
  • You can use your substitutes to help win your match or improve your net run rate
  • Substitutes can only be used AFTER the last live match included in the fantasy match is complete and the scores of all players have been verified
  • You can use your substitutes to replace any player in your starting 11 to help win your fantasy match.
  • Substitutes take on the bowling and batting order of the player they replace
  • Only 2 of the 3 assigned substitutes can be used
  • If your substitute does not participate in the live match he cannot be used
